I haven't read this comic in ages. But it sounds like they are starting it over. What I heard is that he comes back from hell (I guess he went there recently). But doesn't know he has the darkness power. And he now has a fear of the dark.

Ain't this comic just too awesome to be true?! I just _love_ those circles, outstanding design, Jim, one of your bests! Ever!
The Darkness in general is a truly cool character, and only Jim is worth the pride to design something so terrific of 'im!
