Why do I still watch Smallville?

Seriously, why? The acting is bad. The stories are flimsy at best. The lines they say are horrible. The special effects are sub-par. And I’m getting really sick of that “I’m going to walk away from you and say something profound with my back turned to you so we can have both faces on screen”, it’s annoying.

Superman After his DeathIt’s been going on for what 8 years? And Clark still can’t fly. He’s met Lois and has started to date her but he doesn’t have the Superman tights. I think he’s met everyone in the DC Universe (besides Bruce Wayne, which I’m kind of surprised about) but still not wearing the tights. In stead he’s in his post “Death of Superman” gear for some reason. Now he just needs a Mullet. I’m still convinced that some kind of mind wipe is going to take place to reset the status quo. Also how many times is he going to lose his powers? Who knew the powers of Superman were so easily stripped?

It used to be that the premier and the finale of Smallville were awesome, the rest were ok. But those two hours seemed like epic action packed movies. They need to return to that.  (Please no more “Absolute Justice” type events)

I believe the reason for sticking around is really just the payoff. We’ve waited 8 or so years to see him don the red cape and people are just waiting around for it. Or at least I am. Or maybe because people have sunk so much time into the show to abandon it now would be a waste. I doubt they’re sticking around for the award winning acting or great writing, but I’ve been wrong before.

  1. I am an addict of Smallville and i watch every series and season of it. I love Lana Lang and Clark Kent.;~,

I disagree, while Smallville is NOT a perfect show (it’s a low-budget show on a low-budget network), it still has some great moments. While they do have their fair of bad plot-lines and bad episodes (when they trip, they fall hard), they also have a TON of great episodes. The acting does NOT suck. First off, Michael Rosenbaum, John Glover and Alison Mack should have won awards for what they’ve done. And despite getting a lot of flack, Tom Welling is great in the role. If you doubt his ability see the episodes “Unsafe” and “Pariah” from Season 4. And remember, acting is objective. I love Tom Hanks, but other people believe he sucks. (it’s ALL opinion people).
I love the show and will continue to watch it. Sure, they could use a bigger budget and more writers, but besides that, it’s an AMAZING show and they have had a LOT of great episodes. They are creating their own mythology (which is fine because DC has a ton of different “universes” anyway). And if you don’t like it, switch it off.
