Uncanny in space

Filed under: Comics, HeroicWallpapers — Jim Murphy @ 11:49 am

So recently the X-men books (Uncanny and regular ole X-men) had a creative team change. And also a major roster change. Uncanny X-men is now Hacok, Polaris (recently mega powered again), Xavier (powerless), Phoenix (Racheal), Warpath, Nightcrawler and Darwin (who’s power seems to be to adapt to any situation).

Anyway, basically a powerless Professor handpicked this team to go with him into space to stop the 3rd Summers brother, Vulcan. It just seems so forced. Like why Nightcrawler? He seems completely out of place, I think he’d be better on the Astonishing team.

I’m also not a big fan of the X-Men in space. I like them on Earth. I haven’t read one “in space” story since the Dark Phoenix Saga that I’ve liked. And now the Astonishing team are also in space, why are the Mutants leaving earth? All that’s left are Rogue and her team of Cable, Sabertooth, Mystique, Cannonball and a few others. Who don’t even want to be at the X-Mansion. So right now the X-Mansion is guarded by some b-listers and a few “future x-men”. Oh and some Sentinels that I’m sure are freaking because some of the X-Men have just disappeared off the property. It’d be great if both teams come back to a Magneto controlled school or something like that. Just to show that the writers did notice that no one was home for awhile and it was easy pickins for whoever they want to attack.
