Smallville Wedding
(Spoilers and what not, read at your own risk.)
So Lana and Lex got hitched. Lana didn’t really want to. Incase you forgot or like spoilers. Lana tricked Chloe into getting her wedding gift that was hidden in a freezer and closing the door behind her locking her in. So Chloe decides to call Clark (after Lana didn’t pick up). Clark rips off the door to free Chloe, but what he didn’t know was that Lana was in the background watching everything. So now she knows all about him and his powers. (Chloe talks about his Iron Skin and other little hits like being bullet proof). Now Lana wants to call the wedding off because shes still smitten with Clark and she understands why Clark couldn’t tell her. So she writes a letter to Lex and who walks in? Lionel! Somehow he gathers that she knows about Clark being super and threated to kill Clark with his one Achilles’ heel that she didn’t know about. So in order to protect Clark she marries Lex amid tears and some blood shed (Lana’s Doctor is killed by Lex in the very church he weds her when the doc threatens to tell Lana all about the baby she has in her womb). Very Shakespearean.
The episode was ok. I thought it felt short, could have been because we saw the same footage as the multiple plot lines crossed. I didn’t really care that Clark and Lana didn’t get to travel off into the sunset because I know Clark and Lana aren’t going to be together in the comics. But then again they did have Lois meet Clark WAY before he was supposed to. Same with Lex. Lex never lived in Smallville. And I’m pretty sure Lex and Lana never marry. So maybe they treat this show like an alternate universe. Because how can Lex not know who Superman is when the guy never wears glasses. He already suspects that Clark is different. You think some tights and a cape are going to throw him off? Or the argument of “Clark needs glasses to see now, he can’t be Superman!”. So as this show ends they need to either kill off Clark and call it a “Alternate Universe” or give everyone a massive lobotomy. Fingers crossed for the Jor-El induced lobotomy because I’d like to see them continue the story as a comic and call it Metropolis or something like that.
